With companies increasingly realizing the importance of brand equity, brand management
has become more important than ever. But it may be hard for companies to gauge their
own brand performance.
QLBS.com hopes to help businesses tackle this with a new brand assessment and management
system – the Brand Performance Scorecard (BPS).
QLBS.com, which specializes in software that assesses business performance, officially
launched BPS yesterday at Global Entrepolis @ Singapore. The software toolkit, designed
in partnership with JAS Brand Creations, aims to give a “360 degree view of your
brand's health”, said JAS managing director Ertah Tandjung.
“Brands are one of the most valuable assets in business, yet we struggle to monitor
or measure them,” he said. “Almost all brand monitoring tools currently available
are paper-based. Our product will set a new standard, making it much easier for
businesses, irrespective of their size, to cultivate their brands as they grow.”
QLBS.com executive director Keith Phillips said a Mandarin version of BPS will be
unveiled at the International Brand Summit – part of Global Entrepolis – tomorrow.
Also, BPS will be used to assess companies for the Global Brand Award, which will
be given out tomorrow.
Mr Phillips said the Mandarin version of BPS will not only give QLBS.com access
to the Chinese market but will help make it a regional leader. “Chinese companies,
as they look to go international, are new to branding and would gain great benefit
out of BPS.”
QLBS.com's entry into China with the Mandarin version of BPS is through a partnership
with Innovation Corporation, organizer of the International Brand Summit. Innovation
Corp is a Singapore-based company that works with Chinese companies to help with
their branding and internationalisation efforts.
Yesterday, New-Zealand based QLBS.com announced that it has signed two separate
agreements – with the Singapore Manufacturers' Federation and New Zealand's Employers
and Manufacturers Association – to establish performance standards and run business
capability workshops in Singapore and New Zealand.
Mr Phillips said the agreements pave the way for international benchmarking.
