QLBS.COM AND ERNST YOUNG SEMINAR: MEASUREMENT SYSTEMS FOR THE PUBLIC SECTOR

Government Ministries and Public Sector Agencies have objectives of distributing public funds to deliver government agendas and are constantly seeking to improve outcomes. The Public sector is also under increasing scrutiny to deliver better returns for taxpayers, and are looking for ways to improve and account value add. There is an opportunity that is yet to be realised of accelerating and measuring the attainment of these goals, using Information Technology and Performance Improvement systems in much the same way as business seeks to improve its own performance.

QLBS.com in combination with Ernst Young hosted a seminar that looked specifically at how data base driven measurement systems could be used by the public sector to stimulate continuous improvement within themselves and the communities they serve. The focus was on case studies of excellence in action which provided a stimulus for debate.

  • Applying a Continuous Improvement Approach to Social Development(Hutt City Council)
  • A small Company needs to be Smart: Using Technology to Drive the Performance Improvement Engine(QLBS.com)

The seminar was attended by representatives from 18 Public Sector Ministries and Agencies. Copies of the presentations are available.
