The New Zealand Business Excellence Foundation (NZBEF) is a not-for-profit charitable trust set up by private and public enterprise to help improve the overall performance of New Zealand organisations.
The New Zealand Business Excellence Foundation offers an Awards programme to recognise and encourage organisations during their pursuit of excellence. The Foundation has a range of Awards to recognise organisations at different stages in this journey towards "world-class" performance.
How did QLBS.com help?
The Problem: NZBEF conducted assessments for NZ Business Excellence Awards using a team of 5-8 assessors in a manual consensus group process. This process kept the costs of awards application very high (over $40,000), and both cost and effort limited their market since it was not practical for companies wanting just to build themselves up to awards level and monitor their progress.
The Solution: QLBS.com simplified the Baldrige criteria into a manageable questionnaire suitable for self-assessment. Testing showed Q100’s results to be on a par with that achieved in the manual process.
The Result: Consultant training time and experience needed was reduced, along with the assessment process. Costs were far lower and thus opened up more market opportunities – NZBEF have a much higher number of applications for the 2006 awards programme.
"The software has proven to be extremely popular and easy to use whilst identifying organizational strengths and opportunities for improvement…”
- Mike Watson, CEO, NZBEF
